FCS National Champion Bison to visit Trump at The White House

WASHINGTON – The 2024 Division I FCS National Champion North Dakota State University Bison are set to visit President Donald Trump at The White House on April 9.

“Our Bison football team’s national championship victory is a source of great pride for the entire NDSU community and the state of North Dakota. Their invitation to the White House highlights the exceptional talent and determination of our student-athletes. We thank Senators Hoeven and Cramer for joining us in celebrating this remarkable milestone,” said NDSU President David Cook said.

North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer says he arranged the invitation in a phone call and Senator John Hoeven has been working to coordinate the visit.

“The Bison are tremendous representatives of our state, having developed a record of excellence through their hard work, dedication and strong leadership. We are looking forward to honoring their achievements on April 9 with this visit to the White House, and we appreciate President Trump and his team for working with us to make it happen,” Hoeven said.

“Like President Trump, the Bison never get tired of winning. Looking forward to celebrating our victory together,” Cramer said.

“In North Dakota, we take pride in our agriculture, our energy, and our North Dakota State University Bison. With 10 national championships in 14 years, NDSU represents nothing short of football dominance. Their unwavering commitment to excellence, teamwork, and resilience embodies the best of our state, and I’m thrilled to see them honored by President Trump at the White House,” Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak said.

The Bison last visited Trump at The White House during his first term in March 2019 after winning the FCS National Championship. Trump treated players, coaches and staff to McDonald’s and Chick-Fil-A. The federal government was shut down at the time.
