Detective Orth has worked as a Patrol Officer, Support Services Officer and is currently assigned to the Criminal Investigations Unit as a property/financial crimes Detective where he has been assigned since May of 2018. Detective Orth has worked on numerous theft, burglary and financial crimes cases. He has had a large amount of success in solving fraud cases involving scams that have victimized our community. Det. Orth has investigated many challenging cases involving cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin used to receive payments in these various scams and fraud. Thanks to the efforts of Detective Orth, thousands of dollars have been recovered in these scams. Det Orth is considered a leader and mentor to other detectives in the unit due to his hard work ethic, knowledge, and experience. Congratulations on a job well done Detective Orth. Detective Orth has previously received a stork pin, a life savings award, a commendable service award, an active shooter response ribbon and the police longevity award. Det. Orth is married with two children.
