“AI is here”: North Dakota educators discuss potential burdens and boons of Artificial Intelligence

VALLEY CITY, ND — The first North Dakota Artificial Intelligence Conference was held Thursday in Valley City.

North Dakota University Vice Chancellor Jerry Rostad told the conference that “AI is here” in North Dakota and is “proliferating in all walks of life.” He said, however, that there are legal, ethical and moral implications to AI that “we need to think about.”

Rostad did point out that AI could make things easier during legislative sessions by reading bills and condensing them down into one paragraph so “someone can at least get the first glance of what the bill is saying.”
