(GRAND FORKS, ND) – Altru Health System is holding a community open house for its new hospital located on the north side of the Columbia Road campus.
Chief Nursing Officer Cory Geffre tells WDAY Radio News that the new hospital has been built for use into the next several years and contains several upgrades. The new building will officially open January 19 and brings advanced care and a state-of-the-art hospital to the region.
All patients will move on January 19 through a temporary connector that goes from the current hospital to the new. Geffre said the connector is climate controlled so that patients don’t have to endure the winter elements. He said staff has been practicing the procedure that will be used for transferring patients.
The community open house will held Thursday, with tours and refreshments from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. and a program at 5:30 p.m.
