Attorney General warns MN it could sue over state’s policy on transgender athletes

WASHINGTON – U.S. Attorney General Pam Biondi warns Minnesota it could be sued because of the Minnesota State High School League’s position on transgender athletes.

She says the federal government will take legal action if they don’t comply with President Donald Trump’s executive order banning transgender girls and women from participating in girls’ and women’s sports.

Bondi’s warning comes after Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison said the order violates the state’s Human Rights Act.

The U.S. attorney general also sent similar warnings to Maine and California.
