Bill would change Minnesota math requirements

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Republican State Senator Robert Farnsworth of Chisholm wants to give high school students more flexibility when it comes to choosing math classes.

One of the ideas he has proposed is to get rid of the algebra two requirement in Minnesota schools. The bill would still require students to complete three years of math.

The bill was brought up during the education policy committee hearing on Wednesday.
