(WASHINGTON, DC) – One of the newest members of President Donald Trump’s cabinet is speaking out about the placement of a 10 percent tariff on Canadian energy.
“It’s certainly an incentive for Americans to say, ‘Let’s get going on producing energy here,’” Interior Secretary Doug Burgum told Fox News Channel’s Fox and Friends program. “But you saw the lower tariff on Canadian energy. This reflects President Trump thoughtfully considering the impacts on Americans, but still putting pressure on those related to the border.”
