CASSELTON, N.D. – The post office in Casselton will have a new name sometime after Christmas.
The Commander Delbert Austin Olson Post Office will honor a hometown military hero who served in the U.S. Navy in World War Two, Korea, and Vietnam. Olson earned the Purple Heart and Navy Commendation Medal during his service. He was listed as Missing In Action in 1968 after the plane he was piloting crashed. Olson’s remains were recovered and identified more than 30 years later.
The North Dakota Senate unanimously approved renaming the Casselton post office in Commander Olson’s honor.
