City of Fargo’s outlook downgraded by Moody’s

(FARGO) – Moody’s analysts have downgraded the City of Fargo’s outlook – a two-year ‘look ahead’. The previous outlook was stable, and at Monday’s finance committee meeting, Finance Director Susan Thompson said the outlook was now negative. She says it shouldn’t be a surprise. She said the city’s ratios are compared with others rated at Aa2. Two factors to the outlook looked at are reserves and debt, Thompson said. City Commissioner David Piepkorn said the change is disastrous – and it has never happened during his time on the city commission.
