HORACE, N.D. – The City of Horace reminds people not to flush items that shouldn’t be placed in toilets because of an unusually large number of service calls to lift stations.
The city says sewage pumps have been clogged by wipes, paper towels, feminine hygiene products, mop heads and syringes. Officials say most of the service calls are coming from the Southdale Farms Neighborhood.
The city reminds you the only things that should be flushed are bodily waste and toilet paper.
City officials say it costs $30,000 to replace a broken or damaged lift station pump.
