MOORHEAD, Minn. – We’re hearing more details about the $5 billion aviation fuel production facility coming to Moorhead.
Clay County Economic Development Director Derrick LaPoint says the fuel made at the DG Fuel facility will be made from corn stalk, sugar beet byproduct and pelletized wood.
“The facility itself actually has less emissions than a hospital. Some of the concerns we heard from some possible neighbors and others in that area from what we’re hearing, the size and scale of the project will be big, but impacts should be pretty minimal,” Lapoint said.
The project is expected to create 650 jobs when production is scheduled to begin in 2030.
