Dashboard created to track federal funds to MN that have been canceled

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Walz administration debuts a dashboard to track cancellations of federal funding in Minnesota.

State agencies report more than $296 million in federal funding to Minnesota has been cut. Most of them in northwest Minnesota are for road projects. Disruptions and cuts statewide include grants to track measles and avian influenza, provide heating assistance and for flood protection.

The Department of Government Efficiency, led by Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, says cuts have been made to shrink wasteful spending.

“Decisions made by billionaires in Washington are cutting real programs that save Minnesotans money, monitor disease outbreaks, and keep us safe. And they’re just getting started on their promised cuts to Social Security and Medicaid,” Governor Tim Walz said. “Sweeping changes at the federal level are happening with little to no warning or public process. By tracking these changes, we’re doing what we can to keep Minnesotans informed on what we know and what’s to come.”

Changes to the dashboard are expected to be updated every weekday.
