Fargo firefighter injured while responding to traffic crash

(FARGO, ND) – A Fargo firefighter was injured Saturday afternoon while responding to a traffic crash.

According to city spokesman Gregg Schildberger, the Fargo Fire Department was on the scene of a traffic crash in the 4200 block of 15th Avenue South just after noon, a Fargo Fire Department member was injured when a vehicle, which was being towed from the scene, made contact with the firefighter’s lower body.

Schildberger said the firefighter was transported to a local healthcare facility by ambulance and is undergoing a full series of medical tests. The firefighter’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Schildberger said no further information will be available this weekend.
