Fargo Police to request purchase of FLOCK technology

(FARGO) – The Fargo Police Department will be requesting to purchase the FLOCK technology at next Monday’s city commission meeting. Captain Bill Ahlfeldt told the City’s finance committee that the department has been working with FLOCK on a pilot program for the technology to replace outdated cameras. In June, the first phase of the pilot program began in Fargo with 21 license plate readers and five cameras in the city. The cameras were placed in the downtown area. Commissioner John Strand calls the system ‘transformative technology.’ Mayor Tim Mahoney said the technology would help the efficiency of the police department.
