Fargo’s newest city commissioner looks forward to listening and learning

(Fargo, ND) –The newest member of the Fargo City Commission says she is looking forward to learning.

“I think it’s important for awhile to keep your mouth shut and ears open and really take in alot of information. I’m excited to work closely with law enforcement. I plan on reaching out to the police chief and also officers, boots on the ground, I’d like to do a ride along,” said Michelle Turnberg.

The former local television news anchor garnered 21 percent of the vote, with incumbent John Strand winning re-election coming in second in the race with 20 percent.

Turnberg replaces Arlette Preston, who was elected in 2020.
