Fargo’s winter warming operation opens in new location

(FARGO, ND) – Fargo Cass Public Health has a new home for its winter warming operation.

Formerly held at the Downtown Engagement Center, Fargo Cass Public Health has moved the operation to the Fargo Cass Public Health building, located at 1230 25th Street South.

“This particular space that we are in can accommodate up to 60 guests per night,” Fargo Cass Public Health Director Jenn Faul said Tuesday.

Faul says Fargo Cass Public Health ‘felt it was a great opportunity for the engagement center downtown to have a reset’ in order to serve clients better.

She says the new space will allow those using it to stay overnight, if needed, and then return to the engagement center for day activities.

Chandler Esslinger, Fargo Cass Public Health Community Liaison, said the warming center is a short-term fix.

“We know that the long-term solution in our community is housing for people who are experiencing homelessness or who are unstably house,” she said. “However, for the duration of this season, we will have winter warming operations in this location.”

The facility is staffed seven days a week from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
