(WASHINGTON, DC) – Representative-Elect Julie Fedorchak’s long-awaited moment in joining the U.S. House is now over.
“Congratulations, you are now members of the 119th Congress,” House Speaker Mike Johnson told the members of the U.S. House Friday afternoon at just before 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
Fedorchak is the first woman to represent North Dakota in the U.S. House, and the first woman to represent North Dakota since Heidi Heitkamp served in the U.S. Senate from 2013 until 2019.
She will serve on the Energy and Commerce Committee.
