BISMARCK, ND — Former North Dakota Senator Ray Holmberg has had several awards rescinded following his guilty plea in a child sex crimes case.
The awards were from the Grand Forks Herald, the Grand Forks-East Grand Forks Chamber of Commerce, the Energy and Environmental Research Center at the University of North Dakota, and the North Dakota Library Association. Holmberg was indicted last year for trying to receive child sexual abuse material, and traveling to the Czech Republic with the intent to sexually abuse children.
A sentencing date hasn’t been set.
