Former Viking Everson Griffen sentenced for DWI

MINNEAPOLIS – Former Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen will serve a 60-day sentence after pleading guilty to driving drunk in May on a Minneapolis interstate.

He was also sentenced to four years of probation.

State patrol stopped the football player on May 28 on southbound Interstate 35W near Lake Street after speeding.

Conditions of Griffen’s probation require him to not use alcohol or drugs. He will serve his 60-day term on electronic home monitoring and will begin his sentence on Tuesday.
