(REGION) – The biggest day of giving for charities across the region is underway.
The 18th annual Giving Hearts Day runs for 24 hours and began at midnight.
This year, a total of 625 charities are participating in Giving Hearts Day, including 50 new charities partaking in the event for the first time. The 2025 goal is to ‘inspire at least 75,000 Giving Hearts to support a charity.’
The ways to support are by donating dollars, donating food or goods or pledging to volunteer.
Last year’s event raised $29.3 million through 40,851 donors giving more than 87,000 gifts. Collectively, Giving Hearts Day has generated $195 million in donations since 2008.
