(GRAND FORKS, ND) — A Grand Forks man accused of raping a 12-year-old is out of jail.
Jayden Perales appeared in Grand Forks County District Court for an initial appearance. He was 17 at the time of the alleged crime, but has since turned 18, according to court documents. He allegedly forced sexual intercourse in May 2024 for the 12-year-old. The juvenile victim went to the hospital for further examination. Perales says he and a friend were the only ones at the home at the time of the alleged rape. State lab reports stated that fluids found on an article of clothing belonging to the juvenile matched his DNA.
Perales is out of jail on an unsecured appearance bond.
