Grand Forks man sentenced to federal prison time for possession of stolen firearms, assault of federal agent

(FARGO) – A 45-year-old Grand Forks man has been sentenced for possessing a stolen firearm and assaulting a federal agent. Michael Otto was stopped by law enforcement in September 2023 for a routine traffic stop, after which he led officers on a high-speed chase. Officers eventually stopped Otto and found two stolen firearms in his vehicle. IN July 2024, a warrant was issued for violation of pretrial release. When authorities were attempting to arrest Otto, he rammed his vehicle into a Grand Forks Police Department and FBI vehicle. The FBI vehicle was occupied by two agents.
