Gunfire in Jamestown park leads to investigation

JAMESTOWN, ND — Witnesses say a man fired a gun towards four people he told to leave a park in Jamestown.

In a statement, Jamestown Police said it happened Monday evening around 6 p.m. at Leapaldt Park. The suspect is unidentified, but is described as an “intoxicated Native American” wearing dark baggy clothes. Police found a black hoodie and two shell casings near the scene. There’s no word on the location or the identity of the suspect.

An investigation remains ongoing.
