CHICAGO, IL — A viral moment featuring the son of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has led to some negative comments on social media.
Seventeen-year-old Gus Walz stood up during his father’s speech on Wednesday with tears in his eyes and yelled “That’s my dad.” The moment was mostly praised but led to some harsh criticism, mainly from conservative commentators. A now-deleted post from columnist Ann Coulter shared a clip of the moment with the caption, “Talk about weird.” Comments from other Trump supporters ranged from calling the teen a “puffy beta male” to saying “Get that kid a tampon already.”
The Walz campaign declined to comment on the negative posts.
