HHS To Cut 10,000 employees, close half of offices

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is going to cut 10,000 employees across different health agencies.

This comes after another 10,000 employees voluntary resigned earlier this year.

The changes are meant to save close to $2 billion yearly and will refocus the department’s priorities.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr said the restructuring will see the department consolidate from 28 to 15 divisions and will also reduce its regional offices from 10 to five.

The cuts are mainly targeting administrative roles with notices expected to go out to employees soon.
