(MANDAN, ND) — Senators Kevin Cramer and John Hoeven are responding after a jury returned a verdict found Greenpeace liable for defamation for its involvement in the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) protests in Morton County in 2016-17.
The case was brought by Energy Transfer, the DAPL parent company.
Cramer said, ‘Justice has been done with Greenpeace and its radical environmentalist buddies who encouraged this destructive behavior during the Dakota Access Pipeline protests.’
Hoeven said, ’The Dakota Access Pipeline was built with the latest, greatest technology and safety features, and the company went through all of the required regulatory and permitting steps,’ and that the facts were ‘reaffirmed’ by the court results.
