Hoeven says the Senate has ‘an obligation’ to confirm Trump cabinet picks

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Republican North Dakota Senator John Hoeven says the Senate has “an obligation” to get President-Elect Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees confirmed.

He made the comments on What’s On Your Mind with Scott Hennen Thursday morning.

Hoeven wants to get the nominees through “as rapidly as we can” saying “President Trump won a mandate.”

When asked if he has any concerns about former Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz’s confirmation as Attorney General surrounding a House Ethics Committee into his alleged drug use and sex with 17-year-old girls, Hoeven says he will follow the process to see Gaetz has a fair hearing and will reserve judgement until then.
