(NELSON COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA) – Nelson County Sheriff Kurt Schwind says a human trafficking investigation is underway in the county. In an e-mail, Schwind says the investigation began as a result of a traffic stop. Three individuals are in custody at this time. Schwind said he cannot elaborate further on the ongoing investigation, but says the United States Customs and Border Patrol is involved. We will continue to monitor this situation as it evolves.
