(Fargo, ND) — NDSU is offering free tuition this coming fall semester to students from North Dakota and Minnesota whose family incomes are less than $80 thousand a year.
“We’re excited to be offering this new program to both eligible Minnesota and North Dakota students, either in their first or second year beginning in the 2024-25 academic year,” said Seinquis Leinen, NDSU’s Senior Director of Strategic Enrollment Management.
She says the Tuition Award Program currently has funding only for next year.
The NDSU foundation is providing $3.5M in funding necessary to cover the anticipated costs for the year.
The program is a competitive response to Minnesota’s North Star Scholarship Program, which offers 4 years of free tuition to state residents attending state colleges or universities, whose family’s income is less than $80 thousand.
