Fargo Mayor Tim Mahoney unveils budget plan for 2025; calls for 11.5% spending increase

(Fargo, ND) — Fargo Mayor Tim Mahoney this afternoon unveiled his preliminary 2025 budget plan for the city.

“The city must think strategically as we care for balancing our revenues and expenses. I want everybody to understand that our city budget team has methodically gone through our financial statements line by line looking for savings,” said Mahoney.

Mahoney says his budget priorities include delivering “excellent public services” and investing in the city’s “human capital” by improving employee compensation.

They mayor’s budget proposal for next year totals $133.5 million.

That’s an increase of $13.8 million, or 11.5% compared to this year.
