(FARGO, ND) – A West Fargo man has been charged with Class A Felony theft charges after stealing money from the company he worked for.
According to court documents, Daniel Lindgren was the Chief Operating Officer for Shorestone Development when it was alleged that he embezzled ‘a large amount of money’ during his three-year employment.
It was discovered more than 200 checks were issued to Lindgren, amounting to more than $2.7 million.
A look through Lindgren’s computer found that Lindgren used gambling websites and had also made ‘extensive investments’ into Cryptocurrency, specifically Bitcoin, court documents state.
Lindgren was arrested on October 31 in Clay County.
On November 6, Lindgren was ordered to pay $5,000 bail with ten percent in cash.
Cass County Jail officials say Lindgren has posted bail and is no longer in custody.
He will appear in Cass County District Court on December 18 for a preliminary hearing.
