Local organization announces it’s closing its doors

(FARGO) – A local organization who serves individuals struggling with mental health, substance abuse and those that are justice-involved, is closing its doors.

RESTORE Inc. Executive Director Kelsey Augustin announced the plans in a letter to the Fargo-Moorhead community shared on the organization’s Facebook page Monday.

“After over 30 years serving our community, it is with a heavy heart that we share we have made the difficult decision to close operations effective October 25, 2024,” Augustin penned in the letter. She states fiscal circumstances as the reason for the closure.

“It has been a privilege to be a staple within the community for so many years and we are saddened to no longer be able to serve a population that is already underserved, contributing to a gap in the community,” the letter read.

Augustin said a plan is being finalized to find an alternative agency to take over the organization’s community service program. Current clients and referral partners will continue to be served, and will be notified directly when the transition begins.

Augustin said clients currently receiving battering intervention services, care coordination and peer support will be transferred to another agency “with as little disruption in services as possible.”

Additionally, the monitoring of compliance for domestic violence court orders on behalf of the East Central Judicial District Court will cease to exist past October 25. The organization will hold office hours by appointment only beginning October 1.
