(St. Paul, MN) — Minnesota Republican legislators are filing a formal complaint against Senate President Bobby Joe Champion.
They claim he used his position to potentially benefit his private legal clients. The complaint cites concerns over conflicts of interest and violations of ethical conduct. The filing comes after Champion sponsored bills in 2023 and 2024 to appropriate taxpayer funds for the nonprofit 21 Days of Peace.
The Senate president last week yesterday that he would temporarily step down from his role as Senate Ethics Committee chairman until the situation is resolved.
