MINNESOTA – FBI agents raid autism treatment centers in Minneapolis and St. Cloud in an investigation into allegations of Medicaid claims fraud.
The search warrants were unsealed as the raids were taking place listing offenses including wire fraud, healthcare fraud and conspiracy.
One of the centers, Smart Therapy, received almost $14 million in state Medicaid funding and another center received nearly $6 million.
The Department of Human Services has been investigating 15 autism treatment centers in Minnesota for possible Medicaid fraud.
