MINNESOTA – A Minnesota-based LGBTQ+ advocacy group is looking to block a new transgender sports bill.
The recently sworn-in U.S. House of Representatives is looking to fast track the law that amends Title IX to exclude transgender athletes from women’s sports. OutFront Minnesota is raising the alarm, saying the measure will cause “real harm” to transgender students.
The bill’s sponsors say it’s about not allowing men to steal sports records from women, but opponents say it’s targeting a very small number of transgender athletes who just want to participate.
