(MANKATO, MINN) – An 18-year-old Moorhead man was arrested Tuesday after a woman showed up at the hospital in Mankato with a gunshot wound.
The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the Benco Electric Cooperative parking lot to investigate broken glass and a handgun found in the parking lot. A short time later deputies were notified that a female had arrived at the hospital with an apparent gunshot wound.
Surveillance footage from Benco showed two individuals firing handguns at one another next to a vehicle in the parking lot. It is believed the female at MCHS with the apparent gunshot was present during the shooting, but not an active participant.
Deputies located 18-year-old Abdikhadar Fakhi Mohidin of Moorhead at a nearby residence. Mohidin appeared consistent with one of the shooters in the video and he was taken into custody.
He’s being held in the Blue Earth County Jail on a charge of first degree assault-great bodily harm.
