(Bismarck, ND) — A bill that would boost the speed limit along certain highways in North Dakota is one step closer to becoming state law.
Proponents of House Bill 1298 say the measure calls for the state to increase the maximum speed limit from the current 75 miles per hour to 80 miles per hour. If passed, the bill will apply exclusively to access-controlled, paved and divided multi-lane interstate highways, barring specific conditions that restrict or require a different speed.
State House members passed the bill on Friday. The State Senate will consider the measure this week.
