(Washington, DC) — President Biden has announced more funding to speed up the global energy transition when he convenes a virtual meeting of the Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate.
The White House piggybacked on the announcement of a one-billion dollar U.S. contribution to the Green Climate Fund that pays for low-carbon and climate-resistant projects in developing countries.
Biden also challenged all nations to join the U.S. in setting a goal of having electric vehicles make up 50-percent of sales of light-duty cars and trucks and 30-percent of medium-duty trucks by 2030.
