U.S. Appeals Court allows California gun ban in public places

(San Francisco, CA) — A California law that bans guns in most public places is in effect today, after a ruling by a federal appeals court.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals issued an administrative stay, meaning it will temporarily place the injunction filed by a superior court judge on hold.

Carol Landale with Brady California says this is good news.

Opponents of the law say it violates the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment.

Starting today, people are not allowed to carry concealed firearms in places like public libraries, amusement parks, zoos, and sporting events.

That includes people with valid concealed carry permits.
