Governor Doug Burgum attends Thursday's Trump trial proceedings

(NEW YORK, NY) – North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum attended former President Donald J. Trump’s trial on Thursday in New York.

Burgum, who is highly regarded as one of the top contenders to be Trump’s running mate in the upcoming Presidential election, made a return trip to the courtroom where Trump was found guilty on Thursday afternoon of all 34 counts he faced, related to falsifying business records.

“This verdict is a travesty of justice. The judge was a Biden donor. The prosecutors were Biden supporters. This lawfare should scare every American,” he said in a post on X following the reading of the verdict. “The American people will have their say in November.”

In a message posted to his Truth Social account, the 45th President said, “THIS WAS A DISGRACE—A RIGGED TRIAL BY A CONFLICTED JUDGE WHO IS CORRUPT. WE WILL FIGHT FOR OUR CONSTITUTION—THIS IS LONG FROM OVER!”
