ND House passes bill to create immigration-focused UND law clinic

BISMARCK, N.D. – A bill to establish an immigration-focused law clinic at the University of North Dakota is headed to the State Senate.

Lawmakers say the House bill would allocate $400,000 in state funds to the project, which proponents say would boost access to legal services for migrant workers and their employers. The measure would also offer law students a chance to gain experience in that area of law.

North Dakota’s House of Representatives passed the bill on a 67-25 vote.
