(Bismarck, ND) — When complete, a new laboratory being built on Bismarck’s Capitol grounds will enable state officials better public-health and environmental concerns.
This according to officials with North Dakota’s Department of Environmental Quality, who say they regularly test for dangerous chemical compounds found in common consumer and industrial products. The products – called PFAs – have been found both in humans and animals. The new lab reportedly will shorten the time it takes to confirm the presence of PFAs in drinking water and groundwater supplies, enabling health officials respond more quickly when the chemicals are detected.
