North Dakota oil production down in January, report says

(Bismarck, ND) — Oil production was down for the month of January, according to the Department of Mineral Resources.

Per the March Director’s Cut, output came in at just over 36-point-three million barrels for the month – just over one and a half million barrels per day. That’s down nearly 20-thousand barrels per day from December. The DMR says a mid-January cold spell is mostly to blame.

McKenzie County is once again the top oil producing county in the state, with nearly eleven-million barrels in January.
