One in custody after shots fired in Fargo

(FARGO, ND) – Fargo Police are investigating reports of gunshots.

The reports came in the 1600 block of 34th Street South, according to Neighborhood Services Lieutenant Junell Krabbenhoft.

Officers arrived to find a man identified as Eric Jensen, a 53-year-old West Fargo resident, who claimed responsibility for the gunshots. They learned the incident began after Jensen reported a male who he knew and was staying at his residence and stolen a vehicle and property from his home.

Officers learned Jensen located the stolen vehicle and the male who took the vehicle, then engaged in a verbal argument with the male. As the male began walking away from the stolen vehicle, Jensen said he shot several bullets from his firearm into the air in an attempt to scare the male to keep the male in the area. The male fled the scene on foot and is currently not in police custody.

Jensen was arrested by Fargo Police for Reckless Endangerment and is currently in the Cass County Jail.

The investigation is active and ongoing. Fargo Police are asking residents to report any property damage to the non-emergency line of the Red River Regional Dispatch Center by calling 701-451-7660.
