Pickett dismissed from NDSU Football program after arrest

An NDSU linebacker who was arrested following a shooting at a Fargo house party has been released from the team.

Jaiden Pickett,19, is facing terrorizing and reckless endangerment charges in the shooting in the 1200 block of 11th St. N. No one was hurt. NDSU Director of Athletics Matt Larsen and Head Football Coach Tim Polasek issued a joint statement saying, “being a student-athlete at NDSU is a privilege that comes with an expectation of representing the team and the university in a positive manner while being a responsible member of our community. After learning the facts surrounding Jaiden’s arrest, we have determined that he violated our student-athlete code of conduct and will no longer be a member of the Bison football program.”

Pickett played in his first game for the Bison this past Saturday in a 52-3 blowout of Tennessee State. The game went final hours before the incident.
