(Washington, DC) — Most Americans believe a peaceful transfer of power is “likely” following the presidential election. That’s according to a new YouGov poll released Friday.
It found that 56-percent said a peaceful transfer of power in January is “very” or “somewhat” likely. In contrast, 29-percent of Americans said they believe a peaceful transfer of power is either “not very likely” or “not likely at all.” The poll also found that Americans are more confident in a peaceful transition if former President Trump is declared the winner at 55-percent compared to the 53-percent if Vice President Kamala Harris is elected.
