GRAND FORKS CO., N.D. – Drivers of two vehicles are hurt after striking a power pole leading to an outage in Grand Forks County.
The Highway Patrol responded around 7:30 Thursday morning at the intersection of 34th Street and 1st Street Northeast four miles south of Northwood.
Authorities say a pickup driven by a 31-year-old Hatton man didn’t stop at a stop sign and struck another pickup driven by a 53-year-old Northwood man. Both vehicles went into the ditch striking a power pole.
The driver of the pickup that was struck was taken to a Northwood hospital by ambulance. The Highway Patrol says both drivers weren’t wearing seat belts.
34th Street Northeast was closed because of an electrical line across the road but has reopened. Nodak Electric Cooperative is working on restoring power.
