(Bismarck, ND) — The North Dakota Game and Fish Department is considering new restrictions for fishing tournaments.
The proposed rule would limit the number of donations from these competitions to only one non-profit community event.
Officials believe this would ensure competitors are following the regulations.
However, event organizers and community members say this could lead to a large amount of fish being thrown out.
The agency says the new restrictions would only impact about five tournaments across the state.
