(Bismarck, ND) — An update in the fatal officer involved shooting is likely to come soon, according to state officials.
The comments come from North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley while speaking with Tim Flakoll on the Jay Thomas Show. Wrigley was asked why no new information was released by investigators following the release of Officer Zach Robinson’s body cam video earlier this year.
“The investigation continues, we are very close where it’s going to be wrapped up,” said Wrigley, “Once the [investigation] is done with finality and we can say it’s a closed case, at that point I will be releasing all of the materials that are covered under our open records law. I will be doing that as soon as is humanly possible.”
The fatal officer involved shooting claimed the life of Fargo Officer Jake Wallin and seriously injured a bystander and Officers Tyler Hawes and Andrew Dotas.
Wrigley says there is content that will be redacted in the released videos. The non-redacted videos were shown to local media outlets after several requests from journalists, but were not published due to content concerns.
