(Fargo, ND) — The chairman of a North Dakota campaign finance group says he stands behind his group’s attack ads, which assert congressional candidate Rick Becker voted to defund law enforcement.
“In politics, those voting records are kind of a pesky little nuisance for some candidates, especially when the wake up one day and find out where they’re at is not in sync with the voters of the district, the state or wherever they’re running,” said Pat Finken.
Becker counters the claim, saying he has never voted to defund police.
Finken bases his claim on Becker, while serving as a state representative, voted against a bill which included funding for the state attorney general’s office.
Finken made the comments while appearing on The Flag’s “What’s on Your Mind”.
He is chairman of Brighter Future Alliance.
